Community Filtering

Community Filtering

You can refine your Nearby grid to show only profiles of members who have identified themselves (via the Profile Editor) as being members of the following communities:

  • Bear
  • Military/Uniformed
  • Athlete/Jock
  • Muscle
  • Leather
  • Geek
  • Student

Instructions

To apply the Community filter

  • in iOS
  1. Open the Filters Menu and tap Community. You will be presented with the communities list.
  2. Tap one or more communities to add them to the filter ***
  3. Tap Done when finished. You will be returned to the Filters Menu. The filter will be updated to indicate your criteria
  4. To apply the filter**, tap anywhere on the visible column of profile thumbnails
  • in Android
  1. Open the Filters Menu and tap Community. You will be presented with the communities list.
  2. Tap one or more communities to add them to the filter ***
  3. Tap OK to close the list
  4. Tap OK when finished. You will be returned to the Filters Menu. The filter will be updated to indicate your criteria
  5. To apply the filter**, tap anywhere on the visible column of profile thumbnails or scroll to the bottom and tap Apply Filter

** You can set additional searches and filters prior to applying this filter. Multiple filter and search parameters will be applied in concert (logical AND relationship)

*** IMPORTANT: While the Community filter will be applied in concert (logical AND relationship) with other filters and searches, multiple communities will have a logical OR relationship with one another, e.g., "Show me profiles where the member has identified with the Bear -OR- Muscle communities." Logical AND Community filtering--e.g., "Show me profiles where the member has identified with BOTH Bear -AND- Muscle communities."--are not possible at this time
