Create & manage trips

Create Trips that announce the cities in which you are currently visiting or cities you will soon be visiting. Trips that have a corresponding SCRUFF Venture destination will appear in that city’s Visiting Soon or Visiting Now grids based on your trip dates. If your destination is not yet a SCRUFF Venture destination city, you can submit a support request below to suggest it.

Create a trip 

  1. Open SCRUFF.
  2. Tap the Explore icon  in the bottom menu bar and then tap the Venture tab selector.
    1. ANDROID  Tap + and then Trips 
    2. IOS  Tap Trips 
  3. Tap “+” to enter the Trip Editor.
    1. Destination: Search for a destination (Can't find your city?)
    2. Begin: Tap and choose your trip start date
    3. End: Tap and choose your trip end date
    4. Purpose: Purpose of your trip (Business, Vacation, Pride etc.)
    5. Notes: Type any additional information which is only visible to you (sites, events, eateries, etc.)
  4. Complete all entry fields and press Create trip for Android or Done for iOS.
Your trip will be visible in your profile details under Trips, your Travelogue and also in the corresponding destination city of SCRUFF Venture in the Visiting Now or Visiting Soon - based on your trip dates. 

Edit or delete a trip

ANDROID
  1. Open SCRUFF.
  2. Tap Explore  in the bottom menu bar and then tap the Venture tab selector.
  3. Tap + and then Trips .
  4. Tap the trip that you would like to make changes to.
    1. Edit:  Make any necessary changes and press Done when finished making updates
    2. Delete:  You can delete your trip by tapping Delete, then tap Delete to confirm
IOS
  1. Open SCRUFF.
  2. Tap the Explore icon  in the bottom menu bar and then tap the Venture tab selector.
  3. Tap Trips .
  4. Tap the trip that you would like to make changes to.
  5. Tap Edit to enter the Trip Editor screen.
    1. Edit:  Make any necessary changes and press Done when finished making updates
    2. Delete:  You can delete your trip by tapping Delete, then tap Delete to confirm

Disable automatic trips & travel indicator

SCRUFF can detect when you're traveling and will auto-create trips and activate your travel indicator. Automatic trip creation and travel indicator are enabled by default. To disable these features, you can do so by performing the following steps:
  1. Open SCRUFF.
  2. Tap account at the far-right end of the top menu bar.
  3. Tap your profile photo to open the profile editor.
  4. Tap Privacy Settings and scroll to Venture.
    1. Trips: Toggled on to disable automatic trip creation
    2. Travel Indicator: Toggled on to disable automatic travel indicator
Note: After disabling automatic travel indicator, you can set travel indicator manually at any time in Profile Editor > Travel and toggle On or Off depending on if you are traveling or not.
