Frequent Phrases

Start friendly conversations with lots of guys even faster with Frequent Phrases! SCRUFF learns and suggests the phrases you use the most, which you can send with just a tap.
SCRUFF will learn the phrases you use most (3 or more times) and add them to Frequent Phrases to send quickly with just a tap. Although Frequent Phrases are suggested based on phrases you type in chat, they are not the same as the auto-suggest feature from your keyboard, which only suggests single words.

Enable or Display Frequent Phrases

The Frequent Phrases feature is enabled automatically the first time SCRUFF detects the same phrase sent in any chat three times. You will receive a pop-up alert explaining that Frequent Phrases has been enabled. You can tap Disable from this alert to navigate to App Preferences and turn it off.

Enable Phrases Manually
  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap App Preferences
  3. Toggle Frequent Phrases ON/Green
Display / Hide Phrases 
  1. Tap the Frequent Phrases icon to display your phrases list.
NOTE this icon will be gray when your phrases list is hidden

Add or Remove Frequent Phrases

Frequent Phrases are automatically added any time SCRUFF detects the same phrase sent in any chat three times.
Frequent phrases are considered the entire chat message (bubble), and not particular words of a chat message. Emoji are considered phrases as well, for example, if you send the same emoji 3 different times in any chat, it will be automatically added.

Add Phrases Manually
  1. Tap the Frequent Phrases icon to open phrases.
  2. Tap the chat bubble of the phrase you wish to add.
  3. Tap Add Phrase from the dialog that appears.
Remove Phrases
  1. Tap the Frequent Phrases icon to open phrases.
  2. Tap the delete icon of the phrase you wish to remove.
  3. The phrase will be removed from the list.
Note: Sending the same phrase 3 more times, will add the phrase to the list again.

Use a Phrase
Frequent Phrases are ordered from most used/sent in chat to least used. Phrases are stored on your device, deleting or reinstalling SCRUFF will result in your phrases being deleted. Emoji are considered phrases. As you type messages, SCRUFF will suggest phrases that match the text you are typing.

Using a Phrases
  1. Tap the Frequent Phrases icon to open your phrases list.
  2. Tap the phrase you wish to use, it will be added to the text input bar.
  3. Add text to your phrase or tap send to send the phrase in your message.
Disable Phrases
  1. To disable Frequent Phrases manually:

  3. Tap App Preferences
  4. Toggle Frequent Phrases OFF
