How do I take photos and videos?

We've redesigned the camera to make it easier to share photos and videos. Tap to take a photo or hold to record video.

Take a photo using the camera

To take a new photo, tap the camera icon camera_sc.svg in chat. Tap rotate_sc.svg to switch between front and rear-facing cameras and flash_sc.svg to adjust the flash.

Tap to take a photo. Tap < back to retake photo or download_sc.svg to download it to your camera roll.

Swipe or tap Send photo to keep the photo in the chat or Send disappearing photo to let the recipient view it once. Tap the button with the recipient's profile thumbnail or placeholder to send the photo.

 

Take a video using the camera

To take a new video, tap the camera icon camera_sc.svg in chat. Tap rotate_sc.svg to switch between front and rear-facing cameras and flash_sc.svg to adjust the flash. 

Tap and hold the button to take a video up to 10 seconds. Tap < back to retake video, download_sc.svg to download it to your camera roll or audio_sc.svg to mute audio.

Swipe or tap Send photo to keep the photo in the chat or Send disappearing photo to let the recipient view it once. Tap the button with the recipient's profile thumbnail or placeholder to send the photo.
