Talking About is a new beta feature of SCRUFF designed to help you connect with guys that share the same interests and desires using answers that you both share using Voice Recording. Talking about lets you connect with guys based on content in their profiles, or based on searches similar to yours.
To start using Talking About, simply tap the Talking About tab next to Nearby in the Browse section
Find guys by recording a new search
At the bottom of the page you will see a floating action button that is animated, and invites you to find guys into a topic. This is the Find a Guy button, and you may tap it to record a new search. You can say anything you like! SCRUFF suggests many possible searches -- Daddies into Hiking, Nerds into Threesomes -- but you can search for anything you like and our system will do its best to match you up with guys that either have profile text that fits your search, or who have themselves recently talked about that topic.
Everybody is Talking About
At the top of Talking About is a section titled Everyone is Talking About. In this section, you will see a collection of terms and topics that people have recently searched. This gives you an up-to-date look at the topics and ideas that people are looking for and connecting over, right now. Topics may group related or adjacent searches -- for example, someone looking to go on a hike, and someone looking for a tennis partner, might both appear under the title "outdoor activities".
You are both Talking About
Our system can detect when two people are searching for and/or talking about the same or similar topics, and connect them.
For example, you might search for other guys who are fans of Ru Paul's Drag Race, and someone may have watched the latest episode of RuPaul's Drag Race and want to find people who love Myki Meeks. It is possible that neither of you have edited your profile text to include any references to Ru Paul's Drag Race. However, because our system can detect that you both are searching for or about the same topic, it would connect you both in this section.
You Talked About
This section will show you results after you have recorded a new search using the Find a Guy floating action button. These results are included based on what they have said in their profile text. Matches are made based entirely on how closely their profile text fits your search, and so these matches may not be online right now or may be further away.
Removing results
You can remove any search by tapping on the minus (-) icon in the header
Feedback
You can provide feedback about any of your matches by tapping on the thumbs up/down icon next to each search result.
Known limitations to Talking About
- Only available in certain regions in the US
- Does not let you search based on the content of images, just profile text
- Only available in English
