How do I report a profile?

Profile reporting allows you to report profiles that violate SCRUFF Profile Guidelines or Terms of ServiceTo prevent abuse of the profile reporting system, reporting a profile does NOT immediately result in the reported member receiving a warning or being suspended. When a profile is reported, it enters a queue for admin review. Certain reasons, and the presence of additional reports from other members, will affect how quickly a profile is reviewed.

If you encounter a serious violation, please submit a support request from the main settings menu in SCRUFF so that we can review it immediately.

Report a profile

  1. From the member's profile, tap the menu option in the upper-right corner
  2. Tap Report
    • Select a Report Reason
    • Select What / Where
    • Where applicable, enter additional details as to why you're reporting the profile and tap Done
    • Review your report to ensure all details are correct
  3. Tap Submit Report.

More about reporting profiles

The following are important points to keep in mind about reporting profiles in SCRUFF:

  1. You can only report a profile once. To prevent abuse of the profile reporting system, a profile can only report another profile once. If you encounter additional serious violations from the same profile, please submit a support request in SCRUFF. If you are being harassed, we strongly recommend that you also block the offending member's profile along with submitting a support request.
  2. Profile warnings. When a profile accumulates a certain number of reports or if it has been reviewed by SCRUFF staff and found to be in violation, it will receive a warning. When a profile is warned, the profile photo is removed and the offending member will receive an in-app alert explaining why they have received it. If you encounter a serious violation, please submit a support request in SCRUFF.
  3. Profile suspensions. When a profile has accumulated a certain number of reports and warnings--or if it has been reviewed by SCRUFF staff and found to be in serious violation of our Guidelines or Terms of Service--it will be suspended. If a profile is suspended, the offending member will receive an error message when they attempt to launch or use SCRUFF, and the launch will be stopped. A support request can always be submitted for a suspension review.
  4. Reporting a profile does not block it. To block a profile, refer to the guide for blocking profiles here.
